North Node in Aquarius 2026: Dates, Meaning and Houses

All dates come from the NovaOracles ephemeris (how we calculate), in Eastern time. Two different nodes exist: the mean node, a smooth average, and the true node, which wobbles around it. The two reach the sign weeks apart, so the table gives both.

The node does not retrograde in the usual sense, because it always moves backward, which is why it goes from Pisces to Aquarius and then on to Capricorn. It takes about eighteen months to cross one sign and about eighteen and a half years to go round the zodiac.

In tradition the North Node in Aquarius points toward growth in community, friendship and shared ideals, while the South Node in Leo marks familiar ground: the spotlight and the habit of being the center of attention. The node is the point where the Moon's orbit crosses the Sun's path. With the North Node in Aquarius and the South Node in Leo, the story is told in terms of the group and the individual. Leo knows how to take the spotlight, and the invitation of Aquarius is to put a gift to work for a wider circle: friends, teams, causes, shared projects.

This is a twenty-month stretch that favors collaboration and curiosity about how others live, with a lingering pull toward the old applause. Both pulls are normal. Nothing here is a requirement; the tradition offers the node as a way to ask where you might stretch. Eclipses cluster around the nodes, so the Leo and Aquarius eclipses of 2027 fall on this axis, including the penumbral lunar eclipse in Aquarius described on the full moon in August 2027 page. See also Aquarius and Leo.

The house the North Node crosses is where growth is invited, and the house of the South Node, opposite it, is where you already have practice. Each house below gives its meaning in the tradition, from the first to the twelfth. First house (South Node in the seventh): standing on your own terms. Second: building your own resources. Third: speaking up and learning. Fourth: grounding in home. Fifth: creative risk. Sixth: useful routines. Seventh: partnership. Eighth: shared trust. Ninth: wider horizons. Tenth: public work. Eleventh, the natural house of Aquarius: friendship and community, the strongest theme. Twelfth: stillness and retreat. The house guide describes each house.

The transit chart calculator places today's node in your own chart and names the house it falls in. The North Node tool shows where the node sits at any date. For the background on the point, read the glossary entry on the lunar nodes, and for the slow planets of the same sky, see Pluto in Aquarius.
